Desicorr® VpCI® Desiccant Pouches are a high performance, dual action product that uniquely combines a superior desiccant formula with the patented VpCI Vapour Phase Corrosion Inhibitor technology.

Desicorr® Desiccant Pouch Bags are a high performance dual action VpCI® Packaging product.

Desicorr Desiccant Pouch Bags contain a unique combination of moisture absorbing desiccant as well as Cortec corporations patented VPCI vapour phase corrosion inhibitors for protecting all kinds of metals (both ferrous and non-ferrous) from rust and corrosion for up to 2 years.

Unlike traditional legacy desiccants the dual function of Desicorr pouch bags reduces moisture in the air (the desiccants mechanism of action) with the enhanced protection of VpCI to protect various metals from rust and corrosion damage within a packaging enclosure. This desiccant action allows VpCI corrosion inhibitors easy access to the surface of the metal., free from the obstruction of moisture present already on the surface itself.

Desicorr® can be supplied in both windowed and non-transparent versions. The windowed version allows for the inspection of the colour indicating desiccant contained inside each pouch. The small spherical beads within each turn from yellow to green when the desiccant has been fully used.

Features of Desicorr® Desiccant Pouch Bags

  • Available as standard in 1/6 Unit & 1 unit sizes.
  • Opaque, non-windowed versions can also be supplied in 4 & 8 unit sizes.
  • Protective VpCI layer does not require removal from the product.
  • Conforms (commercial equivalent) to MIL-D-3464 E Type 1 & Type 2.
  • VpCI® can self heal and replenish itself. Ideal if the package is opened or re packaged.

Frequently Asked Questions

• What exactly are Cortec Desicorr VpCI Desiccant Pouches and why are they a superior choice for protecting my goods?

Cortec Desicorr VpCI Desiccant Pouches are a groundbreaking solution that offer dual-action protection against corrosion and moisture. Unlike traditional desiccants that only absorb humidity, these pouches combine the moisture-absorbing power of a desiccant with Cortec's patented Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI) technology. This unique combination ensures your metals are not just dry, but also actively protected from rust and corrosion for an extended period.

• How do these pouches work to protect my metal components from both moisture and corrosion?

It's a clever two-pronged approach! Firstly, the desiccant inside the pouch diligently absorbs moisture from the air within your packaging or enclosure, reducing humidity levels. Simultaneously, the VpCI technology releases a protective vapor that forms a thin, molecular layer on all accessible metal surfaces. This layer actively prevents corrosion, even in recessed or hard-to-reach areas, ensuring comprehensive protection.

• What's the main difference between Cortec Desicorr VpCI Desiccant Pouches and a standard desiccant packet?

The biggest difference is the "VpCI" part! While a standard desiccant just pulls moisture out of the air until it's saturated, a Cortec Desicorr VpCI Desiccant Pouch does that and releases a protective vapor that actively prevents corrosion on metal surfaces. This means even if the desiccant becomes saturated, the VpCI continues to provide critical rust prevention, offering a far more robust and long-lasting solution.

• Can Cortec Desicorr VpCI Desiccant Pouches protect both ferrous and non-ferrous metals?

Yes, absolutely! One of the fantastic features of Cortec Desicorr VpCI Desiccant Pouches is their versatility. They are specifically engineered to provide effective corrosion protection for a wide array of metals, including common ferrous metals like steel and cast iron, as well as non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, brass, galvanized steel, silicon steel, and even solder.
