Nox-Rust® 1200DC: Product Overview & Specifications
Nox-Rust 1200DC is a specialized, silica-free water solution engineered to prevent corrosion on the internal surfaces of critical equipment like boilers, tanks, turbines, and piping systems. It is particularly effective for protecting ferrous metals and remains compatible with copper and galvanized steel components.
Core Functional Overview
This liquid inhibitor is designed for use during equipment lay-up, storage, or after hydrostatic testing. It works by protecting metal surfaces in both the contact and vapor phases, ensuring that even hard-to-reach voids are reached by the protective chemistry. Because it is odorless and typically leaves no buildup, it generally does not need to be removed before restarting equipment.
Key Features & Benefits
Environmentally Conscious: The formula is phosphate-free, nitrite-free, and contains no heavy metals.
- Versatile Application: Can be applied via fogging, spraying, or pouring directly into system voids.
- Replacement Strategy: Designed to replace more cumbersome or costly methods such as nitrogen blankets, desiccants, or hydrocarbon-based liquids.
- Simplified Removal: If removal is required for specific processes, the product is completely water-soluble and can be cleared with a simple cold-water flush
Application Guidelines
- Dilution: For standard aqueous solutions, dilute with potable water at a ratio of 1:10 to 1:5 (inhibitor to water).
- Hydrostatic Testing: Add to test water at a 1:10 ratio; while the system should be drained afterward, it does not need to be dried as long as it is sealed.
- Protection Duration: Standard protection lasts up to 6 months; for long-term requirements, a 1:5 dilution is recommended.
