When choosing a heat sealer, it very much depends on the type of sealing work you are doing and how frequently.

It’s important to understand the optimal sealing conditions for the flexible packaging material you will be sealing. The main criteria here are dwell time and sealing temperature. This information can be found on the materials accompanying MSDS (material safety data sheet) and/or TDS (technical data sheet).

Next you want to look at how frequently you plan to use the sealer. Does your project involve low, mid, or high-volume heat sealing?

Most heat sealers available are inexpensive and cater to the hobbyist market usually involved in low volume sealing.
